A lucky mum plans to pay off her children’s mortgages and renew her passport after nabbing an eyewatering $20million Powerball prize.

The Queensland woman, from Leichhardt in Ipswich, was the only division one winner in Thursday night’s Powerball draw 1506.

She was left speechless after an official from the Lott called to confirm the news on Friday morning.

‘Oh my god! Oh my god! You’re joking?’ she said.

‘How does this happen? Oh, my goodness. I don’t know what to say.

‘I’m shaking. Thank you so much.’

The woman said she does not usually buy lottery tickets and had only ever won as much as $11 before hitting the jackpot.

She bought her 18-game QuickPick entry on The Lott website and the winning numbers were 11,7, 21, 17, 9, 13, and 24, with the Powerball number 11.

The woman said she’ll seek financial advice to figure out how to best make the money work for her.

‘I can pay off my children’s mortgages, and I might finally take a holiday. I haven’t had one in years,’ she said.

‘My passport must be expired. I’ll have to get it renewed.’

The latest win brings the Lott’s division one winning tally up to 346 in the 2025 financial year.

In the previous financial year, 21 division one winners pocketed more than $773million in prize money.

A spiral galaxy seen directly from the side, such that its disk looks like a narrow diagonal band across the image. A band of dark dust covers the disk in the center most of the way out to the ends, and the disk glows around that. In the center of the galaxy, a whitish circle of light bulges out above and below the disk. Each end of the disk curves slightly. The background is black and mostly empty.
