Free meals for Muslim delivery drivers this Ramadan
The Sundown Spots initiative takes place in towns and cities with the largest Muslim populations, offering food at night and early morning to support those fasting. During Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset.
Iftar is the meal Muslims eat to break their fast at sunset during Ramadan.
Sundown Spots was launched in 2023 by Bafta-winning grime artist and chef Big Zuu.

Which restaurants are included?
“It’s so important for Muslims to feel seen and represented in modern Britain, especially during Ramadan,” said Numan Iqbal, owner of the family-run restaurant Lahore Karahi.
“We’re excited to work with Uber Eats to showcase the incredible food our culture has to offer.”
The first Sundown Spot will launch in London on Thursday March 20, followed by events in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham and Bradford.
What else is Uber Eats doing for people fasting during Ramadan?
Uber Eats is helping Muslim customers discover late-night and early-morning meals by highlighting independent restaurants that stay open for suhoor. Also spelled suhir, suhoor refers to the pre-dawn meal consumed by Muslims before they begin their daily fast during Ramadan.
As part of the Open for Suhoor initiative, the campaign aims to support small eateries while making it easier for Muslim communities across the UK to access food during Ramadan.
Thousands of Uber Eats restaurant partners extend their hours annually to serve customers fasting during Ramadan. However, many users may not realise they can order from these restaurants during these times.
This campaign highlights these independent venues, underscoring their commitment to supporting Muslim communities.
To help customers find Suhoor options, Uber Eats is adding Suhoor badges to the app for participating restaurants. Selected partners will also display special signage at their storefronts. Customers can benefit from exclusive deals and promotions throughout Ramadan.
