Chris Eubank Jr slaps Conor Benn with egg in wild scenes at press conference

Chris Eubank Jr slapped Conor Benn in the face with an egg as the two bitter rivals clashed during a bad-tempered press conference for their upcoming fight this evening.
Eubank Jr and Benn’s meeting in Manchester – ahead of their eagerly anticipated bout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26 – rapidly descended into chaos, with the duo having to be pulled apart.
The brawl broke out after a fiery presser involving the two teams, in which Eubank Jr, not for the first time, attacked Eddie Hearn, accusing Benn’s promoter of trying to ‘sabotage’ the event.
Eubank Jr and Benn had originally been due to enter the ring back in October 2022 before the latter returned two failed drugs tests, forcing the all-British contest to be abandoned.
The feud involving Eubank Jr and Benn stretches back a number of years and mirrors the rivalry their two legendary fathers, Chris and Nigel, shared during their peak years in boxing.
Several vicious barbs and insults have been thrown back and forth between the camps over recent weeks and months but, tonight, security had to intervene, with the two fighters having to be separated on the stage at a packed-out Manchester Central Auditorium.
Video footage of the altercation quickly went viral on social media, with Benn left apoplectic after being struck in the face by Eubank Jr.
It subsequently emerged that Eubank Jr had pulled an egg from his pocket and smashed it in the face of his undefeated opponent after they had exchanged words.
Benn will no doubt be doing everything in his power to ensure it is Eubank Jr who is left with egg on his face when the pair lock horns for their grudge match in north London in two months’ time.
