Birmingham bin strike continues as union rejects deal

Now refuse workers in Birmingham have overwhelmingly rejected a deal from the Council aimed at ending their long-running strike.

The Unite union described the offer as “totally inadequate” and said it failed to address pay cuts.

Meanwhile the council has declared a major incident while rubbish piles up. And there are so many rats in the streets – they’ve been nicknamed ‘Squeaky Blinders’.
