Northamptonshire have re-signed Australia spin bowler Ashton Agar for the T20 Blast group stage.

The 31-year-old T20 World Cup winner featured six times for the Steelbacks in the competition in 2024.

And it was with that bat that he mostly impressed in her previous stint, as he boasted a strike rate of just over 190 from his six innings.

Northamptonshire chief executive Ray Payne said Agar “played a very important role” in his time with them, with the Steelbacks winning four of the final five group games that he featured in.

“We went on a good run last year so I’m excited to be heading back and hopefully we can do well and make a Finals Day,” Agar told the club website., external
