26/11 Mumbai Attack Accused Tahawwur Rana Sent To 18-Day NIA Custody

A Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Friday sent Tahawwur Rana, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused, to 18 days of custody of the NIA after he arrived in India following his extradition approved by the United States Supreme court.
Earlier on Thursday, Tahawwur Rana was produced before the Special NIA Court.
26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana was brought to the National Investigation Agency headquarters late Thursday, where the NIA stated that it would conduct a detailed interrogation.
During the 18 days of custody of the Mumbai terror attack plotter, the agency will question him in detail to unravel the complete conspiracy behind the deadly 2008 attacks, in which a total of 166 persons were killed and over 238 injured.
The anti-terror agency has submitted strong evidence in Court, including emails sent by 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana, to justify his police custody. The agency also said that the court that custodial interrogation is crucial to uncovering the sinister plot. Investigators will also examine Rana’s role in orchestrating the deadly terror attacks.
